SCHOLARSHIPS

The Patrice Scholarship:

We understand the economic challenges associated with sending off a loved one to college. This one-time scholarship of $1000 is intended to help alleviate some of the financial burdens of pursuing higher education.

This scholarship is in honor of Patrice Brown, Melanie's mother.

Eligibility:

  • Must be entering an accredited four-year university and able to show proof of enrollment for the 20-21 academic term. 

  • Graduate from the Cleveland Metropolitan School District and identify as a first-generation college student 

  • Write an essay of 500 words or less responding to the following prompt. “Dreams without goals are just dreams” - please explain one of your career goals and how you plan to achieve said goal.

  • Send in a photo of you representing the college that you’ll be attending in addition to a brief explanation as to why you chose that college.

The Esther Scholarship: 

We understand the economic challenges facing 2020 graduates during a global pandemic and financial crisis. There’s a lot of uncertainty that exists, this one-time scholarship of 1,000 is meant to reduce some of the financial burden that comes with the upstart cost of a student headed into their first year of post-secondary education. 

This scholarship is in loving memory of Esther Eubanks, Alfonso's mother. May she continue to rest in perfect peace.

Eligibility:

 

  • Must be entering an accredited institution (university, community college, technical school, coding bootcamp, etc) and able to show proof of enrollment for the 20-21 academic term. 

  • Graduate of Shroder High School ℅ 2020

  • Write an essay of 500 words or less explaining how the pandemic has impacted your plans for post-secondary education and what you intend on doing with the funds.

  • Send in a photo of you and your parents or guardians and explain why you’re thankful for that person.
